SKY TECHNICAL TROUBLESHOOTING

SOFTWARE DOWNLOAD

If there is a problem activating your Sky card the digibox may require a software download.

The following steps should be taken:

This can only be down with the Sky remote control.

Press the SERVICES button on the remote control

Press number 4 for SYSTEM SETUP

Input 01 and then press SELECT

This then takes you into a hidden menu called INSTALLER MENU

Press number 6 for NEW INSTALLATION

Press SELECT to continue

If the signal strength and quality are at least 50% each continue by pressing SELECT

It will then say SCANNING CHANNELS PLEASE WAIT, then CHANNEL LINE UP COMPLETE.

Press SELECT to continue

At this point you should press BACKUP, the reason you do not press select to retry is that the digibox will not be connected to a telephone line.

It will then say at the top of the screen INSTALLATION FAILED – again this is because you are not connected to a telephone line and has no effect on the download process

Press SELECT to continue

This will then take you back to the original screen. Check to see if you can now view any of the channels. If this does not work cut the power to the digibox by removing the power cable from the back of the box. This should remain out of the box for 60 seconds and then if should be plugged back in. This will reset the box.
